Pyhytoremedation

Phytoremediation /ˌfaɪtəʊrɪˌmiːdɪˈeɪʃən/ (from Ancient Greek  φυτό (phyto), meaning 'plant', and Latin  remedium, meaning 'restoring balance') refers to the technologies that use living plants to clean up soil, air, and water contaminated with hazardous contaminants.

Hempyre Genetics has teamed up with a Native Health Matters for an  experiment that could have a far-reaching impact.
Hempyre Genetics’s Project Hemp for Victory team is working with Native Health Matters to identify the best strains to rejuvenate our earth, something that is desperately needed after decades of wear and tear by other crops.

Community Farm Program

Native Health Matters’ vision is the development of a Rural Native American Community Farm Cooperative in Adair County. The vision is to transform the health of rural Cherokee communities by bringing agriculture education, commercial agriculture technology and commerce to Adair county.

The program will consist of the development of an educational cooperative for the local communities and will combine Ag education with commercial farming, to grow fresh vegetables and traditional gardens both indoor and outdoor, in rural Cherokee Native American communities.

The goal of the initiative is to help rural Cherokee communities achieve local food security, independence, improve wellness, and increase economic development.
